otter trapping in ohio


how long has otter trapping been allowed in ohio? i'm in pa, trying to figure out how long the've been coming in from ohio!

I'd have to look to be sure, but they were introduced quite a few years before a season was opened, and I wouldn't be surprised if some had already began population Pa. before we even had a season.

i'm near the shenango river corridor. we got them everywhere, but no season yet.tring to get a timeline so mabe the biologists will look a little closer!

I crossed the Shenango twice on 80 yesterday, and each time I thought about what a great otter habitat it was!

All I can say is get with your state fur bearer biologist and push them to start monitoring, if they haven't already.
