Anything mouse based is hard to beat ,horse meat, bobcat meat for baits
Red fox, grey fox, mink or bobcat gland lure .
Bobcat urine.

3 sets, 1 baited, 1 lured , 1 with urine.

Call lure , gusto , Klondike call, magnum .

Less is better than more when it comes to amount of bait, lure ,or urine at a set . Make them work for it.

For baits I like Clint Locklear's and O'Gormon's stuff. Lures, J.C. Conner's, Night Owl, Scott Welch. For an early season bait I like to use a little ground tainted liver mixed with some castor and coyote glands and a squirt of coyote urine.

It depends on time of year, type of set and equipment used.

I realize that this is an old post, but I will throw in my 2 cents worth. I agree with Porcupine on Mighty Mouse. And I agree with Minker on fox and bobcat lure as well as making multiple sets using different attractors (bait, lure & urine). I have used many different lures for canines and had good results with several. Blackies Blend (now owned by Scott Welch) has a canine lure called TKO which I loved and used frequently. Blackie never told me what was in it, but said that it was one of the most difficult lures to make. It wasn't your traditional gland/urine concoctions. But I had success with it as well. And I've had success with Night Owl Lures. About 15 years ago, I made a lure myself called "Canine Deluxe". I sent the lure to several trappers who claimed to have success with it. One trapper said that he used it in southern Kentucky and caught red fox, grey fox, coyotes and two bobcats. I will send you a sample to try. Just send me a U2U message if you'd like to sample it.
