Season goal met

At the beginning of the season I always have a goal I would like to meet. If I don't make it all is OK as numbers are not really that big of a deal. After the initial 3 weeks I had 77 mink in the freezer so that 100 mark was well in reach. I probably could have got there before Christmas but I had several stops that had otter sign. With our otter season coming in the day after Christmas I chose not to set them until after the 26th. Setting out a small line the last few days I finally hit the century mark. It may not be that big of a deal to some but I am really satisfied doing it in Ohio, which is not normally considered a "mink paradise".

Wow. I just read your post and 77 mink in 21 days is very impressive. I can't imagine all the area you would have to travel to get them results. And even more impressive to reach 100 with a couple more weeks to go before end of season. I don't consider myself being a mink trapper but I do my share of water trapping and covering a route of about 60 miles each day visiting 3 different county's for the last few years I find myself with a season average of about 6 mink. I ran into a trapper a few days ago on aep and he's still trying to catch a mink after a 3 year dry spell. Whatever you do to catch all them mink being a single trapper, you definitely got the technique mastered.
